General Dentistry

A filling is the most common way we stop decay before it becomes a larger problem. Caught early, a small cavity is a short, comfortable appointment.

Signs you may need a filling

  • Sensitivity to hot, cold or sweet foods
  • A visible dark spot or hole in a tooth
  • A rough or chipped edge you notice with your tongue
  • Ongoing ache or discomfort when biting down

Stop Decay Before It Spreads

When a cavity is found early, treating it is straightforward. We remove the decayed portion of the tooth, clean the area thoroughly and fill the space with a material that restores the tooth's strength and shape.

Left untreated, decay continues into the deeper layers of the tooth. What could have been a simple filling can become a root canal, a crown, or an extraction. Regular examinations are how we catch these problems while they are still small.

Comfortable, Precise Treatment

We take time to make sure you are comfortable before we begin, and we explain what we're doing at each step. Many patients tell us the appointment was easier than they expected.

Once the filling is placed, we check your bite carefully so the restored tooth feels natural when you chew.
